Every discipline creates its own vocabulary. The custom clubfitting business is no different. What is different from many other disciplines is that in fitting and building custom golf clubs there is no single correct answer. It is an art, not a science. If a Clubmaker ever tells you he can build you the "perfect" set of clubs on the first try, cover your wallet and vacate the premises. The same advice goes for filling in a few spaces on a computerized questionnaire and expecting a perfect fit. It's just more complicated than that. The fitting process requires discovery, discussion, testing, and retesting. There are simply too many choices to make 100% correct, the first time. If you're looking for extraordinary results, then you're going have to invest extraordinary effort.

As a starting point, we have created a dictionary of custom club fitting jargon. It is aimed at explaining the new concepts that have pervaded the golf equipment industry in the last few years. If you haven't been "in the market" for a while, you will find this discussion helpful. We hope you enjoy our simple approach. This is our view of "what you need to know" in concepts and vocabulary. If you are "always in the market" we hope to provide you with some amusement and a different point of view. Even if you don't buy clubs from us, you will at least have more fun talking to the guy you do buy them from.
