Golf Lab Extended Demo Program

There are some clubs that are not well fitted indoors. Wedges are the most obvious. If you want to test wedges you have to take several to a place where you can hit them from natural surfaces – fairway grass, rough and sand. That's the only way to compare wedge performance and feel.

We have complete selections of high performance wedges from Miura, Scratch, Vega, Mizuno and Bobby Jones. Nothing says that wedge shafts have to match your irons.

If you are thinking about making a significant change with your irons – club heads or shafts – there's a good argument that testing with a six iron only doesn't reveal the complete picture. Wouldn't it be much better to take a complete set of irons to your own course? Players contemplating a change from S-300 to X-100, Project X, KB Tour or Tour Concept need to know what to expect from their short irons as well as their mid irons.

The same goes for drivers. It's pretty easy to be seduced by a new driver on the range. But, how does it do on the sixteenth hole when you're one down?

For a small fee, you can take complete sets of our high performance demo clubs to your own course for actual play. You have a choice of three wedges, one set of irons or two drivers for up to a week of play for $75. Up to a month with unlimited exchange privileges is $150. If you decide to make a purchase, half of the rental fee applies to the purchase price.

We have dozens of sets of irons set up with a great selection of shafts including Aerotech in several weights, Nippon, Project X, Scandium, X-100 and Tour Concept. Most of the sets are high end forged heads – primarily the Bridgestone J-33 series.

Conversely, if you're thinking of moving from blades to something more forgiving – you can find out if the new model will really be more forgiving. Eliminate the possibility of disappointment. We have a nice selection of Callaway Pro Model and MacGregor MT, Mid and OS for your testing pleasure.

Mornings at the Muni

The best way to gain insight about a player's swing and how he uses his clubs is to watch him play. For several years, Leith Anderson has met up with Golf Lab clients at the Palo Alto Muni early in the morning to play nine holes and finish up with breakfast at the clubhouse before continuing the fitting at the Golf Lab.

In 2010, we plan to expand “mornings at the Muni” to include full rounds on Thursday mornings. If you would like to join up with the Golf Lab group for a full round of golf on Thursday mornings call the shop to make a reservation. The “playing fitting” is just $25 for nine holes and $50 for 18 holes. You will receive a complete personal analysis of your game and your bag.

There is no charge for clients who help us add names to our email list or volunteer a video testimonial for our website.
